The Oklahoma City Boathouse Foundation's mission is to develop and operate facilities and programs to improve the quality of life in Oklahoma City, pursue the highest goals of sports and fitness, attract diverse involvement in the boathouses and related events that generate a positive public image and economic opportunity, and promote the use and development of the Oklahoma River as a world class urban aquatic venue.
Oklahoma City Boathouse Foundation officers include

The Oklahoma City Boathouse Foundation's initiatives include...
- Encouraging public participation in community events
along the Oklahoma River
- Conducting regional, national and international rowing events
- Ensuring public access to the river and docks
- Leading development, management, and/or redevelopment of facilities and improvements serving the Foundation’s mission
- Providing rowing shell and kayak storage for nonprofit rowing
clubs and universities
- Offering the community a public meeting space
- Creating community education programs, including
programs for at-risk youth
- Providing the community with instruction for rowing, kayaking, dragon boating, weightlifting and fitness programs
- Coordinating the consistent upkeep and maintenance of all boathouses and surrounding grounds with available services to boathouse owners
- Attracting elite training and competition to the Oklahoma River for various Olympic disciplines
- Coordinating the river usage, safety procedures, and event management among all boathouses and user groups
- Any programs, equipment, facilities, events, and initiatives deemed in the best interest of the Foundation and its constituencies
